Underground cables have a protective sheathing around the cables which can deteriorate and if allowed to persist, will cause an underground fault to the cable it is protecting. This will result in a voltage breakdown of any underground cable, e.g. cable TV, electric, etc.  OTM can locate “cable sheath faults” to within 6” - 10”.
